The UK government awarded £196 million to Urenco to build an enrichment facility to produce high-assay LEU (HALEU) at the Capenhurst site (Urenco announcement). The facility is expected to begin operations in 2031. According to the BBC report, "the facility will have the capacity to produce up to 10 tonnes of the fuel per year."
