Following the earlier work on the development of U-Mo LEU fuel for the FRM-II research reactor, France's Framatome and the Technical University of Munich signed an agreement to establish industrial production of the fuel.

According to the news story describing the agreement, the first U-Mo fuel foils were manufactured in 2022 and the irradiation of a prototype will begin in late 2024.
