China is building an indigenous enrichment facility in Hanzhong

Jeffrey Lewis at Armscontrolwonk.com reports that China is building an indigenous uranium enrichment facility at Hanzhong, Shaanxi province. The facility is constructed at the site that hosts three enrichment plants that use Russian technology. The new plant is similar to the enrichment plant that China built in Lanzhou (which produced its first LEU in June 2013), but smaller - its annual capacity is estimated to be 0.25 million SWU.
