Sergei Kiriyenko, the head of the Rosatom Corporation, told journalists during the IAEA General Conference in Vienna that Rosatom has returned to Russia 1.81 tonnes of HEU from foreign research reactors. Kiriyenko also said that by the end of 2012 Russia will remove HEU from Poland, Uzbekistan, Hungary, Vietnam, and Czech Republic. He also said that the United States is planning to take HEU fuel from reactors in France, Austria, and Canada.
