On 8 March 2018, U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission received a license request (XSNM3792)) from the U.S. Department of Energy to export "200 grams of uranium enriched to 93.19% of U-235" to Centronic Limited in the United Kingdom. The ultimate use of the material is to "fabricate neutron detector." The uranium would be shipped as U3O8. The previous license of this type, XSNM3600, for 50 grams of HEU, was issued in November 2009.
