IAEA approves the LEU bank in Kazakhstan The IAEA Board of Governors approved the agreement with Kazakhstan that will establish a reserve of LEU that will be managed by the IAEA. The reserve, located at the Ulba Metallurgical Plant, will include up to 90 tonnes of LEU, stored as UF6. The government of Kazakhstan approved the agreement in April 2015. The agreement will be signed at the end of August 2015 in Kazakhstan, after which it will take about two years to open the reserve. Previous entry Next entry
