Start-up of the PIK research reactor in Gatchina, near St.-Petersburg, Russia, has been delayed at least until the fall of 2011, reports AtomInfo.ru. The delay is attributed to regulatory issues. A year ago, in April 2010, the start-up was reported to be delayed due to lack of funds to complete some construction projects. According to the AtomInfo.ru report, the operator began loading fuel to the reactor at the end of 2010.
