In a ceremony held at the Tricastin nuclear site, Areva inaugurated its Georges Besse II uranium enrichment plant. The plant uses gaseous centrifuge technology. According to Areva, it is expected to reach its nominal capacity of 7.5 million SWU/year in 2016. Later, the capacity of the plant could be increased to 11 million SWU/year.
