HFR reactor shut down for repairs
The High Flux Reactor in Petten, the Netherlands, which is one of the the largest producers of molybdenum-99, was shut down for repairs on February 19, 2010. The problems with primary contour piping first forced a shutdown of the reactor in August 2008, but it was restarted again in February 2009. This time, the reactor is scheduled to re-start operations in the second half of August 2010.
