The Angarsk Electrolysis Chemical Combine is expanding its capacity - by 12% in 2009, with the goal of increasing the capacity of the plant to 4 million SWU/year from the current 2.6 million SWU/year. According to the representatives of the plant, most of the new capacity will support operations of the International Uranium Enrichment Center.
Angarsk will also host enrichment facilities of the Russian-Kazakh joint venture. According to the current plan, the joint venture will build centrifuges capacity of 1 million SWU/year in 2011 and increase it to 5 million SWU/year by 2017.
