Japan Nuclear Fuel Ltd. announced that it is delaying the launch of the Rokkasho reprocessing plant until at least March 2016. The delay, first reported in September 2014, is due to the complications in getting safety approval from Japan's Nuclear Regulation Authority. This is the 21st delay in the start-up of the plant. When its construction started in 1993, it was scheduled to be completed in 1997.
